Is BARC having a Hamfest? Yes, but not as the Greater Baltimore Hamboree and Computerfest. The fairground had management issues and the long time manager of the fairgrounds is now gone. The facilities are in need of repair. On top of that the price to rent the building was over $14,000 by the time we paid for trash, security and heat. Instead, we changed the date and location. We will be Fathers Day at the Arcadia Carnival Grounds. it is a better location and better chance of good weather. While more outside, the rental of the space goes to a volunteer fire company. They have a large area - which is used for events such as the Maryland Steam Show, there are regular Demolition Derby and Mud Bog events, also the Blue Grass Festival - Plenty of parking and space for outdoor tailgating and vendors.

So join us on Sunday June 21, 2015 for the BARC Father's Day hamfest in Upperco, MD. This exciting event features a giant flea market for traditional tailgating, QSL card checking, and food. Hours: 8 am.-2 pm. Location: the Arcadia Volunteer Fire Company grounds, 16020 Carnival Avenue, Upperco, MD 21155. Contact: Dave Shadwell AB3TE, Hamfest Chairman--410-842-5019 or w3ft67@yahoo.com.

We need people to help with the hamfest by contacting vendors and mailing information to them. We will need people the day of the event to sell tickets and help with logistics. This is Fathers Day. Please let us know if you are available to help.

We had a blast as we operated as Special Event Station W3B from 8 PM EDT Friday, September 12th through 10 PM Sunday, September 14th 2014 commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Baltimore and the writing of the Star Spangled Banner. This was the actual 200th anniversary. Thank you to those operators who helped with the event. QSLs for W3B are only for this timeframe.

QSL any of our contacts (any on-air activity): US-send SASE; DX-send SAE w/$1USD or use the bureau). For any direct mailing, an SASE or postage is required. Our mailing address is "Baltimore Amateur Radio Club-W3FT, P O Box 120, Reisterstown, MD 21136"; please mark your inbound envelope with the event name (if applicable). Logbook of the World is loaded promptly.

2015 Field DayARRL Field Day is June 27-28, 2015. This is the largest on-air amateur radio event in North America. Details of our participation will be announced... Field Day details

13 Colonies

13 Colonies Special Event: July 1-6, 24 hrs. a day

BARC participated in the 13 Colonies Special Event as a sister event to the July 4th celebration. We represented the 200th Anniversary of the Star Spangle Banner. This was an important part in history and a huge event for BARC. Congratulations to those hams who made a clean sweep by working all the 1x1 stations plus the bonus stations. We hosted hams from all over the area as operators--a hearty Thank You to those who helped. We have uploaded to Logbook of the World and over 500 QSL requests by USmail have been answered.

Wow, another cool and successful event has concluded with our 2014 Greater Baltimore Hamboree on Saturday April 5, 2014. (Maryland State Fairgrounds--Timonium, MD). To those who came out, we thank you for being with us! The Hamboree included free Amateur Radio License examinations. There were 58 applicants with 65 examinations administered. Our congratulations to the 45 individuals who achieved either their first license or upgraded. This was the biggest exam session for the Hamboree since April, 2000.
